On the edge of an ancient Empire lies a city called Outpost.
The city moves and bustles with all the activity of any city, but Outpost is not just any city. For just outside the city lies the vast realm of Nocturne, a land where night reigns eternal; day and night, all is in darkness.
As one of the first generation of brave adventurers to enter the lands of Nocturne you will have a great task before you. Little is known about the lands it encompasses or the races and creatures that dwell there, and of what is known, much is merely speculation and rumour...
Welcome to Nocturne!

The City of Outpost
Welcome to the city of Outpost. As this city lies on the very edge of Nocturne it forms the staging post for those adventurers who dare to go beyond daylight. If you wish to count yourself among their number, then it would be wise to acquaint yourself with it. The city contains many areas of interest to one such as yourself, and within you may begin training in one of the four Adventuring Guilds, or alternatively examine the diversity of people who inhabit the city.

A Guide To Outpost
Upcoming Events:
This used to be a guide to forthcoming events and relevant details, but after over three years of play we've now switched from running Friday evening events in Nocturne to running weekend afternoon events in the White City.

All the latest OoC news, announcements, requests and information.

Every adventurer must go through this period of training in order to enter Nocturne.
Essential Information:
A brief summary of the things everyone should know about Outpost and Nocturne.
Glossary:
Like most other roleplaying games and systems, FLRP has a tendency to contain a great deal of jargon. This page explains most of the acronyms and other terms that are used in various parts of this website.
The Adventuring Guilds:
From here you may learn more about the four Adventuring Guilds of the city, and the skills, spells, miracles and powers that they teach.
Character Creation:
Your nine step guide to creating a character in Nocturne.
The Palace of Aldermen:
Arguably the most impressive structure of the city, everyone who is anyone goes to the Palace of Aldermen at one point or another. This is the centre of the city's political life.
The Outpost Post:
News travels fast around Nocturne - as fast as the Outpost Post. Take a trip to their offices above the Frisky Ferret tavern, have a look at the latest issue of the OPP or contact the editor yourself.
The Crosseye Tavern:
This tavern stands between the two bridges, known as The Crosses, which together with an island known as The Eye, form the only link across the river Nox, which flows through the city's heart. Bards from many lands both near and far come here to speak of tales and legends, adventurers of many stripes pass through the tavern's doors, and various announcements are to be found posted on the tavern's noticeboards.
Dr. Fuggle's Guide To Nocturne:
It is a long and hard journey to Nocturne, but it is one you will often take as an adventurer. Little is yet known of this realm, but that it holds valuable resources which supply the city with its wealth. One studious and scholarly member of the Lorewarden's and Elementalist's Guilds is attempting to remedy this dearth of knowledge.
Plot Summaries:
To keep GMs and the merely interested or curious informed of what has happened in past adventures, included here is a rough summary of events from as many of the past FLRPs as we have information for. Note that all the information supplied here is strictly Out-of-Character.
LARP Links:
A pageful of links to other websites. Includes links to an old Nocturne website, a couple of old Brandel FLRP websites, various suppliers of latex weaponry and other props and equipment, numerous other LARP games and organisations around the UK, and miscellanous stuff such as a LARP primer and a LARP FAQ.
