Directions to the Angel & Greyhound pub

The Angel & Greyhound pub is a short distance down St. Clement's Street, just to the east of Magdalen Bridge. It has a number of tables outside at both the front and back, and a car park at the rear.

The directions given below generally assume that people will be coming from the direction of the town centre. For those travelling from elsewhere, I recommend that you make your way to Magdalen Roundabout, also known as "The Plain", and follow the directions from there. The Magdalen Roundabout is just to the east of Magdalen Bridge and the River Cherwell, and is the point where the High Street, St. Clement's Street, Cowley Road and Iffley Road all meet. It's fairly hard to miss!

By foot or bike:
From the town centre, head east over Magdalen Bridge. At the Magdalen Roundabout, take the first clockwise exit, (i.e. the one to ahead and to the left as you come over the bridge,) which is St. Clement's Street. The pub is a short distance along here, on the left, past 'Club Latino's' and 'Comics Showcase'. Just look for the place with the tables out front surrounded by a low cast iron fence, and the 'Angel & Greyhound' pub sign on a pole.

By car:
For those who are driving, there is a convenient public car park just behind the pub. This car park is pay-and-display, and people have been known to receive tickets even while just waiting in the pub for half an hour.
If coming from the direction of the Magdalen Roundabout, there is a turning to the left, then a pelican crossing, then another turning to the left, all spaced fairly close together - it's the second turning that leads to the car park. Note that this second turning is actually two roads side by side - to get to the car park take the second of these (since the first one leads to an annexe of Queen's College).

By bus:
For those coming by bus, then the #7, #13 and #15 buses run from the town centre to St. Clement's, and cost about 50p each - the #7 leaves from Queen Street, while the #13 and #15 leave from St. Aldate's. The bus stop is a little way past the pub - after alighting you will need to walk back towards the town centre a short distance to reach it.
